Beginning...

This blog is about me reading the Gospels to learn more about the person named Jesus. As I do, I will make daily posts, to share what I am learning. It is difficult to say what this blog might turn into. The concept of this blog is to examine different moments in which someone met the Lord in His time here on Earth.

Some time ago, it occurred to me that we might learn a lot about how to deal with people by simply studying how Jesus did it. There are many records of these interactions. We learn about a woman at Jacob's well, a man possessed with demons, one with a withered hand, a Jewish leader with questions, a man whose child was dying, a soldier whose servant was sick, and others. All of these meetings affected more than just the people meeting Him. There were family members, friends, religious leaders, crowds of strangers. For most, to meet Jesus was to change your life.

It should be the same way today.

Jesus not only was, but is, a real person. He is one we can actually get to know and rely on. He is involved in the lives people. With that in mind, I will do my best to approach each of these moments honestly and with full respect for those involved. These are real events, with real people, and should be treated that way.

This cant be a series about doing what Jesus would do, because many of these moments involve Jesus doing things we cant. He raised the dead, read thoughts, fed thousands, revealed hearts. These are in divine territory and I am not divine. What I can do is attempt to emulate the heart response of the Savior and rely on Him to guide my heart and actions.

God bless us as we study. Please, feel free to follow here on Blogspot. If you'd like to comment or contact me, please feel free to comment here.
